This song took me the longest to record, mainly because of the vocals; those were definitely the hardest ones to record on the entire album. The piano solo in the middle is inspired by the song "Aladdin Sane (1913-1938-197?)" by David Bowie.
lyrics
I'm in the middle of a relationship with myself
Love and hate
The two sides can't come to a conclusion
It all started with the beginning and the end of you
Can you even open your eyes?
You can't even think of me
I can still remember your smile
If I reach out, I can still touch you...
(if for just an instant)
Pictures on my wall of you
I stare at them every night for you
I don't tire of your memory
It's nights like this where I embrace your existence...
(or what's left of it)
I'll go down the stairs in the middle of the night
Lock and unlock
I look into the trunk of my car and smile to myself
Locked here is the memory of you until I grow tired of it...

An album in two parts; a coherent, optimistic first half, and a darker, depressing second half. This is the album that dreams and nightmares are made of, a plunge into the abyss with no way out. Tyler King
On their 10th record, the Glasgow-based group serves up more wonderfully menacing, gothy synthpop, perfect for dungeon dancing. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 19, 2023
Pretty, Lush-inspired dream pop has a gentle touch, with whispered spoken-sung French vocals drifting lightly over shimmering guitars. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 24, 2019
